This Privacy Policy explains what information AltShift for PowerPoint ("the Product") collects and how that information is used. By using the Product, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
The Product collects the following information for the purposes of license management, prevention of unauthorized use, and quality improvement:
- License Key: The serial key issued at the time of purchase
- Machine ID: A SHA-256 hashed identifier derived from a combination of the computer name, Windows username, and motherboard serial number. This hash cannot be reversed to recover the original information.
- First activation date and last verification date: Used for license validity management
- Error information: When an unexpected error occurs during operation, the Product automatically collects the error type, stack trace, OS version, and add-in version. No personal information such as names, file names, or slide content is included.
The Product does not independently collect any personal information beyond the above (such as your name, address, or email address). Any information collected during the purchase process is managed in accordance with the privacy policy of the payment service provider.
2. How We Use Your Information
The collected information is used solely for the following purposes:
- License validation (activation and periodic verification)
- Detection and prevention of unauthorized copying or illegal use on multiple devices
- License migration (deactivation when changing devices)
- Bug detection and resolution (quality improvement through error analysis)
We do not use your information for marketing or advertising purposes.
3. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not share your information with third parties except in the following cases:
- With your explicit consent
- When disclosure is required by law
The Product transmits information to the following external services. All communications are encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
- License verification server (Google Cloud Platform): Machine IDs and License Keys are transmitted for license validation.
- Error collection service (Sentry, United States, Functional Software, Inc.): Error information (error type, stack trace, OS version, and add-in version) is transmitted. Please refer to Sentry's website for their privacy policy.
4. Data Security
The collected information is protected through the following measures:
- Local configuration files: Encrypted using Windows DPAPI (Data Protection API), ensuring that only the logged-in user can decrypt the data
- Communication with the license server: Encrypted via TLS 1.2 or higher, with certificate pinning to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks
- Server-side storage: Machine IDs are stored as hash values and cannot be reversed to recover the original information
If you cancel or delete your license, all associated data on our servers will be deleted within 180 days of the cancellation.
5. Cookies and Tracking
The Product (the add-in itself) does not use cookies. This website (marketing pages) may use cookies for analytics purposes.
6. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time in response to changes in applicable laws or our services. In the event of material changes, we will notify you through this website or within the add-in. The most current version of this policy is always available on this page.
